# ScreenshotX

> ScreenshotX is a free screenshot tool and lightweight screen capture software for Windows from Great Software Company, for capturing, editing and sharing screenshots without ads or an account.

The official website is https://screenshotx.com/. The current version is 1.1 and supports Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7. Setup and portable downloads are available. The setup installs the app with a Start menu entry and an uninstaller; the portable executable runs without installation.

Current features include area and window captures, automatic centering on detected solid backgrounds, colored backgrounds, a freehand brush, a highlighter, a color picker, blur redaction, dark and light modes, and one-click sharing. Text and annotations are marked as planned on the website.

Sharing produces a public screenshot URL and a private administrative URL for viewing statistics or deleting that screenshot. Shared screenshots are automatically removed after 30 days. The administrative URL should be kept private. This Windows application is unrelated to similarly named mobile apps.

The app includes 21 languages, selectable under General Settings: English, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Finnish, German, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
