Terms of Service
This website and ScreenshotX are developed and maintained by Great Software Company OÜ, a limited liability company registered in Estonia. For company information and contact details, see GreatSoftwareCompany.com.
ScreenshotX is freeware. You may use, distribute and share the application as long as you do not modify it. You retain ownership and copyright in screenshots you create or share. Sharing a screenshot gives us permission to store and display it as needed to provide the sharing service.
You are responsible for having permission to share the content you upload. Do not upload illegal content or disclose someone else’s confidential information. Check screenshots for sensitive information before sharing them. We may remove shared content or restrict misuse of the service.
This website and ScreenshotX are provided “as is” without guarantees of availability or error-free operation. We guarantee that we have not knowingly added malware or hidden malicious functionality to the application. We cannot guarantee continued hosting of any particular screenshot or provide dedicated technical support for this free tool.
ScreenshotX is not designed for critical systems or environments where an error could harm people or animals, or cause financial losses. Do not use it in such environments.
Use of this website and the application is at your own risk, subject to any rights that cannot be excluded by applicable law. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia, and disputes are handled by the courts of Estonia, subject to mandatory consumer protection and jurisdiction rules. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.
Privacy Policy
We use information to provide screenshot sharing, manage newsletter subscriptions, respond to messages, prevent abuse and understand how our software and website are used. We do not sell your personal data or share it for third-party advertising.
Shared screenshots and service data
When you use Share, your screenshot is uploaded to our servers and can be accessed by anyone who knows its public URL. Keep the separate administrative URL private: it allows access to screenshot statistics and deletion. ScreenshotX 1.1 also lets you delete a shared screenshot from the application.
Uploads include the screenshot, its dimensions, application-provided user and system identifiers, and the application version. Our online services also record technical information such as IP addresses, browser or client information, screenshot identifiers, view counts and visit times. Version checks record the application version, IP address and client information.
Shared screenshot files are scheduled for automatic removal 30 days after upload and can be deleted earlier through their administrative URL. Related upload records are scheduled for database cleanup 91 days after the screenshot’s automatic deletion date. Separate usage and security statistics may be retained for service maintenance and abuse prevention. Removing a screenshot from our service cannot remove copies that other people have already downloaded or saved.
Newsletter and contact information
If you subscribe, we store your email address, subscription status, IP address and browser information. We also keep private backup records of valid signup requests and confirmed addresses for recovery and subscription administration. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours.
Confirmation emails are delivered through Resend, which receives the recipient address and email content needed for delivery. Confirmed addresses are added to our newsletter mailing system. The newsletter covers ScreenshotX releases and announcements about our other freeware. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email.
Unsubscribing stops newsletter mailings but does not automatically erase the website’s signup and backup records. Contact us to request deletion of those records. Contact messages and technical records are retained as needed to respond to requests, administer the service and investigate abuse; they do not all have the same fixed retention period.
Cookies, preferences and analytics
We use a necessary session cookie for newsletter verification and abuse prevention. Your light or dark mode preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. These features are not used for advertising tracking.
We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate website statistics. Plausible does not use analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers, and its data policy describes how connection information is processed without storing raw IP addresses or browser user-agent strings.
Service providers and data transfers
Hosting and email providers process information needed to operate the service. Email providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. See Resend’s data processing information for its transfer arrangements and safeguards. External websites linked from this site apply their own privacy policies.
AI Policy
We do not use your screenshots, email addresses or other user-provided content to train AI models, and we do not share such data with third parties for AI training. For our approach to AI-assisted development, see the Great Software Company AI Policy.
